Profile:  Married father of 4 children.  Project manager for LORD Corporation in Erie, PA.  Part-time sales associate at Achilles Running Shop in Erie, PA.  High School cross country and track at Northwestern High School in Albion, PA, graduating in 1979.  College cross country at Division III Hiram College, participating 2 years (1980, 1982), graduating in 1983.  Current race director for the Waterford 5K in Waterford, PA.

Goals:  To run until the day I die.  To find something to enjoy about every run.  To run a sub-38:00 10K in 2010.

When and why did you start running: I first started to run in 1975.  I wanted to be Varsity at some sport, and concluded that cross country required no skill, just determination.  Since I had no athletic skill, it was perfect.  I started my second life of running at age 35 in 1994.  I was an overweight father of 1 year old triplets, who could not keep up with my 4 year old son in backyard games.  I decided I needed to get back into shape else the kids would all leave me on the porch.  I restarted racing in 1998 at the Waterford 5K.
